A weekend in pictures (Part One)

A weekend in pictures...

California here we come!  (Things I learned in CA #1- The 3 hour time difference really does throw me off, hence blogging at midnight, it's only 9pm right?! #2- Being organized packing TOTALLY pays off.  Security was a breeze (except for the pat down Hubby had to get b/c of a hippo - ask him about it, it is hilarious :) #3- Airports and planes are fun, new and exciting, but dragging 2 kids through them is my exercise for the week!)
The kids were SO excited.  They couldn't wait to get to the airport.
Watching the planes as we waited to load.  Both of our flights were on time and the kids loved the new adventure.
 Waiting...
 Waiting...
The kids were fascinated by the TVs in front of them...sorry for the shine from the window (Brother refused to close it :)
Sister and I had fun with the pipe cleaners...they were a great idea.  We made headbands, bracelets, etc.
John Wayne airport...1st sign that a 3 hour time difference might effect the kids a little. (Don't you love Sister's face?! Ha!)
(Things I learned in CA continued... #4- What is UP with the traffic CA??!! It is everywhere!  Atlanta has traffic, but we get were we are going and get down with it.  I honestly don't think we drove anywhere not in traffic, not much can make me thankful to get home to ATL.  #5- I wish the ATL could borrow some weather from CA though, the cool breeze we felt all weekend was AMAZING! (Although the people dressed for winter at Disneyland made us laugh :).

Saturday morning we got up and got dressed to head to the Memorial Service planned for Hubby's grandfather.  It was a day full of remembering and celebrating a wonderful man.  We enjoyed seeing family and catching up with everyone.
Man, I love those sweet kids...

After the Memorial Service we headed to the grave site and then to the local VFW for a reception.  The whole morning was planned well with a lot of time for us to reflect and spend time with family.

After the reception we headed to Anaheim to check in and find a quick surprise from Mickey and Minnie... we had decided to stay in CA an extra day to take the kids to Disneyland.  They were VERY excited :)

We checked into the hotel and headed out to a cookout being thrown by some more family.  The kids were able to swim and hang out while we could visit with everyone.  It was a perfect way to unwind at the end of the day.
Sister found a boat to drive...
The kids had a blast playing in the pool together.  (Notice the older girl with dark hair all the way to the right?  She was the flower girl in our wedding almost 10 years ago!! That made me feel old! )
I love this action shot :)

Brother and his buddy played together all afternoon.
Grandpa even joined in the fun.
The boys decided to overtake the float...
Almost there...
whoops...

(Things I learned in CA #6- Planking really is everywhere, come on ....you know it is funny :)
Success!
Brother and his new Angels hat...a perfect souvenir!  Our hosts for the afternoon graciously gave it to him and he was SO excited!
We headed home early to get some sleep so we could get up bright and early for 2nd adventure of the trip...DISNEYLAND!  To be continued...

Wow, you guys packed a TON into last weekend! You know, I was just thinking how heavenly my Athens traffic must be compared to your Atlanta traffic ... but I guess California WOULD trump both of our daily driving dilemmas ... ;) Looking forward to more pics!

By the way – your hair is getting so long! (I love it ...)

Miss you and love you! ~Rose

I'm so glad that ya'll were able to go for the Memorial Service. I know it meant a lot to David, and getting the little Sheep out there to CA was pretty cool.

Traffic? UGH! That's a downer! I mean, I might put up with worse traffic than ATL in New York City, but in CA!

Love Brother Sheep's new hat!
