I found a fun bonus to being on FB. I have been holding off for quite awhile, but Hubby and I decided to join and have a page together. I was able to get this picture from my MIL's page. Quick and easy to stick it on the blog. I don't plan to stop blogging, just have people come here to see the pics. :) Happy Thanksgiving ... about 6 weeks late !

Happy Bithday!
We had a little time before Hubby showed up this morning before we began to dig into our presents. Our Pastor had talked this week about really taking time to enjoy Christmas and what it was all about.
We have been talking to Little Sheep daily about Jesus and his birthday, so this morning we read the story and talked about how gracious God is to let US receive the gifts on his birthday instead of him. That always seems to hit home with Little Sheep since he has a December birthday and we had just celebrated it, but this morning he responded a little differently than normal.
He decided he wanted to give a birthday gift to Jesus. He choose one of his toys (after some debate over what was an "appropriate" gift... I can't remember what he wanted to do 1st, but it was probably one of his sister's toys or something) and then he wanted to wrap it and put it under the tree (I think this was in an effort to use his new safety scissors that were in his stocking, but it was still sweet.) I let him continue since I thought it was a good lesson, but then got a little caught after he went to bed tonight and I wasn't sure what to do with the gift.
My sister, lonebutterfly, had a get idea I think I am going to use. I think in the morning we will let him know that Jesus is very grateful for the gift and loves that he was thinking of him. And he would like for him to take care of the gift and keep it with him until he can get it.
Our goal for our family is to do Santa, but to do it on a MUCH smaller scale. I loved that our morning was preoccupied with this story more than something else.

Hubby got some new camo overalls that he needed.

Little Sheep got a Handy Manny from Great Granddaddy. He loves it already! He has tried to "fix" everything in the house!

Since he has turned 3 you can tell that he is an excellent unwrapper! (See his Ole Miss football jersey on the couch? Santa brought that!)

Hubby and I spent most of the day opening toys so the kids could play with them (and we could get rid of the boxes)!

I LOVE this poka-dot pink dress. I actually put it on her after her nap, with her black leggings and silver shoes, for her to wear the rest of the day.

Baby Sheep got into the "unwrapping" thing about 1/2 way through the morning. By the time we were at Hubby's parent's house she was unwrapping our gifts for us!

This is the adorable outfit Baby Sheep got from their cousins in Colorado. I love the cupcake on the front...too cute!

We had a wonderful morning...I think it was my favorite part of the day b/c we weren't running around anywhere and we were just hanging out in our pjs being together. The rest of the day was pretty busy, but a lot of fun. ( I didn't even have time to take any pictures... they should take away my blogging license!!) We got to see a lot of relatives we don't see very often and enjoyed spending time with them. We actually get to see a bunch of them tomorrow too!

Each of our children get 3 gifts from Santa (well, Baby Sheep only got 2 b/c she got her ears pierced in October, but she didn't seem to mind). I LOVE getting everything together the night before...I just missed having Hubby with me. He had helped wrap everything a few nights ago, so I didn't have much to do by myself. The kids were wonderful as we watched a show and talked about Christmas while we waited for Daddy to get home.
They also had a BLAST when it WAS time to open the presents. Baby Sheep got an adorable tea set from her Great Granddaddy. I love it!

I am glad that our Pastor reminded us to enjoy the time together and try to just sit and be still for a while. I don't think I have just sat and really not focused on anything in a long time. With the economy not being great right now I have really been focused on living more simply. I feel like our family is extremely blessed. Not only do we have each other, but we have family who loves and cares for us also.
When we got home today I had to clean out the playroom to make room for the kids new stuff. Instead of just moving it around I told Little Sheep we were going to make boxes of stuff to get rid off. Surprisingly he was totally on board (even after I said it wasn't just going to be Baby Sheep's stuff) and even after we were done the room still looks like they have so much. I know we are rich compared to most of the world and I hope I can teach my kids everyday to be thankful to the one who provided it for us all.
God Bless you all... remember the baby who was born today and let him change your life!
Merry Christmas!
The night before Christmas...
Okay, so I know I have a lot to catch up on (and for some reason all of my "blogging" techniques have left my brain...it won't let me cut and paste and I totally forgot to put my pictures in reverse order!) but I figured since I have my new bff (sorry, no name yet) and she is SUPER fast online, I would go ahead and blog about our holiday. I don't want to get to far behind, right? :)
Hubby was at the station Christmas Eve, so after the kids and I spent the morning cleaning, resting and .... well that's all we did...we went to the Christmas Eve service at church. Then I decided to make the 45 minute drive out to the station so we could all be together. It was actually a nice visit (except Hubby getting a call and being gone for a little bit... at least it wasn't a long call) Little Sheep loved seeing the fire trucks on Christmas Eve and all the guys brought in food, so we got to share in a yummy feast!
Little Sheep got hold of the camera and took some pictures. The firefighters were good sports about it!

Here I am !! Are you all sick of looking at Halloween pictures in December?! I am working on getting some new pictures uploaded and I promise tons of updates soon. You won't believe how big Baby Sheep is!!! I can't believe she turns 1 in a month! We have an exciting new addition that will hopefully allow me to blog a little easier...hint: it allows me to blog from bed! I just have to upload some pictures soon and I will be able to blog away!! I did go ahead and change the background, so you guys didn't have to keep looking at the Halloween stuff and I promise to update again soon. I just wanted to let you know I didn't forget about you! ;)

Rockin' Disney Show
As a special treat for Little Sheep I booked some tickets about a month ago to see the "Rockin' Disney Show" downtown. I had an amazing coupon and I must have purchased the seats at the perfect time b/c we got some AWESOME seats. Little Sheep didn't even have anyone in front of him. It took him a little while to get into it b/c he wasn't feeling well. But once he did he loved it. Baby Sheep stayed with some close friends of ours (and had a great time herself :), so it was just the 3 of us. It was a wonderful afternoon!
This was the best picture I got of the stage. It was pretty dark in there, so it was hard to take pictures. Little Sheep loved the "bus" the characters rode around in. It was a PERFECT show for him...Mickey and Minnie were there along with Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Tigger and a few others. It was a lot of fun!Saturday, December 19, 2009
Starting the holidays a little early...
We got together with some family this weekend to visit before Christmas. The cousins had a lot of fun playing together and we enjoyed some outdoor activities :) Unfortunately, my Dad and R/ both spend a little time feeling under the weather, but at least they got it out of the way before they continued traveling for Christmas.
The boys had fun playing some football while waiting for dinner. Little Sheep made sure to wear his football helmet! I think Hubby is being a goal post.
Little Sheep passing to Granddaddy...I think their team won, but only b/c I tagged in :)
We also spent a little time outside geocaching. My family helped us find 2 different caches that we had previously been prettty stuck on. We were VERY happy to find them. And Hubby did great too...he found an extremely difficult one at the park near our house. I love geocaching!! It was a fun outdoor activity that all the kids and adults loved!
Baby Sheep helped by being happy in her carseat!
Little Sheep enjoyed being silly (this is his new "silly" face :P)
He talked Hubby into joining in on the fun!
While they were in our neck of the woods they decided to check out the cache that we hid. It was fun to watch someone look for ours. They did a good job!
They brought some great gifts for the kids who of course loved all of them. Little Sheep got the coolest truck named "Chuck" who comes to you when you call him. Baby Sheep liked him a lot too. (And she liked that she could play with his fire truck in peace b/c he was preoccupied with Chuck the truck :)
Little Sheep also took a few pictures while everyone was there. He is really beginning to love the camera. He cut off a couple of heads, but overall did a pretty good job centering the pictures.
The morning after they left Baby Sheep started playing with a box they left for her. They brought her b-day present since they wouldn't see her again before her birthday, but she went to bed early the night before she opened it. It was like she knew it was for her b/c she wouldn't leave it alone all morning.
We finally let her open it and she had a blast. She loves anything that makes music or moves. She loves to dance and shake her booty!
I think she was over me taking pictures and wanted me to stop and play with her!
